Labour migration: a socio-cultural factor for social transformation in Banke district, Nepal

This study deals with labour migration as a sociocultural factor to transform society and improve human livelihoods. It explores how social transformation is reshaping systems, identities, patterns practices. Labour has been top choice household strategy for improving living standards status. responds affecting local ethnic communities, in particular, Tharu the process of restructuring practices, values norms. primarily uses qualitative methods gain deeper understanding social, cultural political aspects community. approaches examine later structures mobilities. The findings clearly show processes reforming residents’ through receipts remittances technological goods services. Social identities are also reformed realisation integration. socioeconomic status migrants’ families significantly improved. In addition, existing practices namely Kamaiyas (Bonded Labourers) Sukumbasi (Slums) removed from communities. can contribute government non-government-led development programs projects well implement new policies strategies address migration-related issues contemporary societies Nepal indeed other regions world.
